End of the Season Report

Despite unseasonable weather throughout much of our 2011 Spring baseball, more than 350 players took to our ball diamonds and participated in a great, fun-filled season.

Our Rally Cap division with 5 & 6 year-old players, had 6 teams that focused on basic skill development and finished each night with a fun T-Ball game.

Tadpole had 56 players and after early season practices, graduated to 3 strike / 3 out baseball games using pitching machines.

In the Mosquito division, 7 teams held a competitive regular season & double-elimination playoffs with a player-pitch format, base stealing and standard baseball rules. The Kal Tire Lightening took home the division championship after finishing in 2nd place during the regular season behind the Global West Mortgages Red Sox.

Pee Wee had a total of 5 teams, 4 house level teams and 1 travel team. Vernon's travel team was competitive with our local associations throughout the season. The Kal Tire Storm were crowned house division champions after an 11 - 8 win over the Union Securities Reds.

Bantam featured two teams representing Vernon both of which finished with impressive won-loss records and a 2nd place finish by the Wayside Press Savage Bulls in BC Interior playoffs.

In the Midget division, Vernon had two competitive teams with solid records utilizing new & improved facilities at Marshall field.

Best of luck to our four "Vernon Canadians" Summer teams in Mosquito A & AAA, Pee Wee A and Bantam A Provincials. We're proud to have you representing VDBA and our home town!

A special thank you to all of our coaches, volunteers & sponsors for their support this past season. Baseball isn't possible without your hard work & contributions.

VDBA President
