Pee Wee Director

My name is Tammy Holland and I am the new Director of the Pee Wee division. This is my 5th year on the board and am looking forward to the continued development of these Pee Wee baseball players this 2010 season.

All ball players will need pants, jack or jill, cleats, a helmet & a glove. VDBA will supply the jerseys for the season, which will be collected at the end and will be giving the players their own hats to keep. VDBA will also supply all of the gear; balls, bats, etc.

We have an exciting season starting. I am hoping for at least 5 – 6 house teams that will start evaluations the beginning of April and will be separated equally to play against each other starting the week of April 19th. Typically, the teams will get 2 games a week and a practice. The games will be held between Monday through Thursday and practices will typically be on the weekends when the fields are open. They’re fields that they will use are at Creekside park in Coldstream. We’re considering hosting a 10 team tournament for the weekend of May 21 – 24, which would be a Memorial Tournament remembering all our members who we’ve lost. Should be a really fun weekend, so please set those dates aside.

Last season was the first time that we participated in a Pee Wee Interlock Division. That is a team of boys & girls who try out to play on a competitive travel team. We would play against other interlock teams in the South Okanagan during the week. I’m really looking forward to this and hoping for a good number of kids to come out for this team. We have a good number of dad’s who have coached a number of years and who have been working on their coaching certificates and will be ready to help develop these kids into good ball players. As soon as I know dates and times of these practices and evaluations I will update this page.

Running these divisions takes a lot of time and energy, so I’m hoping for a lot of help from other parents of players to get us moving along the right track. Coaches, scorekeepers and team parents will definitely be welcomed with wide-open arms. I look forward to seeing all of you soon on the ball field.

Sincerely,

Tammy Holland
