Pee Wee Spring Baseball
Pee Wee Spring Baseball will begin early April 2012 and conclude late June 2012. Evaluations will be held early April for both Pee Wee House Baseball and Pee Wee Interlock Baseball (the "Traveling Team").
Pee Wee House Baseball
Initial Team practices for House Baseball will be held April 23-26, April 30th & May 1st, 2012. Each team will practice at least three times before playing games. Each team will play at least one, and possibly two, exhibition games on May 2 & 3, 2012. Coaches will determine practice times and length of practices during the first two weeks of the season. In addition, each team will be strongly encouraged to have one practice a week for the balance of the year. These practices will most likely be held Saturday mornings. Coaches will determine the time and length of these weekly practices.
Games will be played on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings beginning May 7 and will continue through mid-June 2012. Games will begin at 6:00 pm and end at approximately 8:00pm, depending on the time of year; light being the determining factor. Each child will be expected by be at the field ready to play at 5:40pm. Each team will generally play twice a week on a rotating nightly basis.
Finally, we expect to have a wrap up tournament commencing in mid-June, 2012 and concluding late June, 2012. I expect that Pee Wee House Baseball will be concluded by June 24, 2012. Final dates will be established once I have determined the number of kids registered for Pee Wee Baseball.
Traveling Team
For the last three seasons VDBA created a Pee Wee Traveling Team. The team participated in a Pee Wee Interlock Division. It played against other interlock teams in the Okanagan during the week. I hope to have a Traveling Team again this year. Initial Team practices for the Traveling Team will be held as soon as the evaluations are concluded. The Traveling Team will practice at least twice a week and play games and play games as scheduled in the Interlock Division.
Summer Pee Wee Baseball
We expect to have one Summer Pee Wee Baseball Team. Players wishing to try out for Pee Wee Summer Baseball should be prepared to commit to playing baseball most of the weekends in July and possibly one weekend in August.
