Umpires Information Page
Umpire in Chief - This position must be filled with a certified umpire and requires the skills necessary to provide leadership to all levels of umpires.
Umpire Coordinator - This position must be fill with a person who has the ability to organize and schedule umpires for the regular season.
Both of theses roles are crucial to the success of our baseball season.
On April 10, 2010 The VDBA will be hosting The Vernon Umpire Clinic in the Vantage One Boardroom (upstairs in the Marshall Field soccer complex) starting at 8:30 AM. The Level 1 Clinic will end at about 12:30 PM, the Level 2 Clinic will continue until approximately 3:00 PM. Level 2’s should bring a lunch. Water will be provided. Level 2’s should also bring a ball glove. Masks and chest protectors will be provided.
Costs are $25 for Level 1 and $50 for Level 2; this includes your registration, a 2010 rule book and an umpire's manual. Vernon Minor Baseball will pay the registration fee for attending umpires (with the requirement that you do umpire some games in 2010). For anyone who cannot attend this Clinic there will also be Clinics in Penticton on March 20 and at Rutland on March 27

Clinics are designed to help all umpires with the three things necessary for good umpiring - a high level of baseball knowledge, good umpiring techniques and the proper attitude. Umpiring is a complex activity - the learning never ends so come to the clinic ready to:
I) learn from the instructors and other umpires and
ii) to share your knowledge and experience for the benefit of all.
