Coaches

Coaches, Assistants, and Player helpers,

It's that time of the year to up our game. Veron Baseball will be hosting a coaching clinic for 11U Mosquito and 13U Peewee coaches. We will review what to do during warm-ups, practices, and games. We will be working on running a proper bullpen as well as pitcher/catcher development. We will discuss ethics, safety, and how to have fun. This is the time to answer all the questions and remove all of the barriers for you to have a great season.

This invite goes out to all coaches, assistant coaches, and parent helpers. Please bring your players, they add to the drills and skills and love watching Mom and Dad participate.

Please bring a glove and have your player come with their gear. Head coaches, please bring your gear bags so we can have catcher gear and bats.

Thanks,
Carl Vardon

Vernon Baseball is looking forward to another successful season of baseball in 2023. We would like to thank everyone new for signing up as coaches and assistants and to all of those returning as coaches and assistants for the upcoming season.

At Vernon Baseball it is our goal to support you in implementing consistent coaching to our young athletes. We have outlined the role of Coach and put together a Coaching Package that will help in kicking off the season successfully. In addition, we have created a Standard Practice Plan for the 7U and 9U levels. These are great packages to review and implement for those coaches just starting out.

Also included in the Coaching Package you will find our Code of Conduct guidelines for all of our Coaches, Parents and Players. Be sure to review each of these prior to the season and include a brief review with your players and parents during your first team meeting. Fair play and creating a positive environment for our kids to learn, grow and have fun is our most important role as leaders.

BC Baseball is always revamping the coaching training across the province. As new information is released, we will update our website with relevant information and links.

Criminal Record Checks "ECRC" are valid for 2 years. All Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches and parent helpers are required to complete an ECRC before they hit the field. It is now done electronically via a secure web link. If it is your first time using this process or you are entering your "Service #", just follow the guidelines in the link below. There is no charge for this new service. If you have any questions about the requirements for acceptance or a negative result on an ECRC please review the Risk Management Policy.
