Dear Coaches, Parents, and Players,

Vernon Baseball is excited to share that Charlie Law has rejoined our Board as the new 15U Director and will also be available as a Mental Health and Mental Performance Coach for athletes, coaches, and families across our league.

Charlie’s connection to baseball began at age six, listening to an Expos radio broadcast in his grandmother’s Toronto kitchen. That spark carried him through North Vancouver Little League, where he became an all‑star pitcher and first baseman, competing in multiple Provincial and National Championships from ages 12–24. He later represented Team BC as the opening‑game pitcher at the Canada Games in New Brunswick.

As a coach, Charlie has worked at every level—from T‑ball to U18—including four BC Summer Games as a head coach. He contributed to the 2006 Vernon Peewee AA Provincial Championship and the 2011 Team BC U15 Western Canada Games Silver Medal. Since 2008, he has also served as a Learning Facilitator and Coach Evaluator for Baseball Canada, delivering NCCP training throughout the province.

Beyond his baseball résumé, Charlie brings more than 25 years of experience as a counsellor and consultant in the mental health field (MSW, RSW). Over the past five years, he has supported student‑athletes with the mental, emotional, and psychological aspects of sport performance, including three years working with SFU’s Division II athletes. His philosophy is simple but powerful: athletes grow best in positive, caring environments where they feel safe to take risks, FAIL, and ultimately GROW.

Charlie is thrilled to be back in Vernon and looks forward to supporting our players, coaches, and parents both on and off the field. For families or teams interested in accessing Charlie’s mental‑performance coaching, these services are offered independently and would involve a fee, arranged directly with him.

Please join us in welcoming Charlie back to the Vernon Baseball community.

Warm regards,

Michael Sanfilippo
