9U (Tadpole) baseball is for kids born in either 2014 or 2015. The goal of the 9U division is to teach the kids the fundamentals & rules of baseball in a fun & positive environment. We accomplish this with practice for the first few weeks moving into practice/3 inning games for the remainder of the season to learn as we play.
Pitching machines will be used for the entire season. During games, a maximum of 10 players will be on the field at a time. Throughout the season all players will be given the opportunity to play all positions as well as bat in different spots in the batting order. Each team is likely to have 10-12 players of varying baseball abilities & experience. 2023 Schedule & Format: Monday & Wednesday Nights from mid-April to mid-June Players should arrive at the fields at 5:45 PM Teams Practice from 6:00 to 6:30 PM (Practice Days will practice the whole duration) Break / Set-up for Game 6:30 to 6:40 PM (On Game Days) Games will run from 6:40 to 7:30 PM Parental Information: Parents must remain at the field at all times, no drop-offs The conduct & well-being of their player are the responsibility of the parent(s) while at the field Parents should expect to be asked to help from time to time by the coaches. Please click on the Equipment tab for answers to what your child might need to play ball The VBA is looking for coaches. This level of baseball requires lots of help. Please indicate on the registration form and contact the 9U Director if you are interested. This is a great opportunity to get involved in the sport of baseball and give back to your community. In the past we have had a summer ball team for kids that are interested in further development. This season is separate from the spring league and usually runs the month of July. This of course will be dependent on coaches. There will be more information sent out in May to all our spring players. If this is a coaching position that you are interested in please contact the Tadpole division director. Ryan Novakowski Tadpole (9U) Division Director tadpole@vernonbaseball.com |
