The Coyotes have been running summer camps for 10+ years now. Our high performance camp allows players to “be a Coyote” for a week. The HP camp would provide very similar information and development activities that college programs across North America participate in. Also it’s a great chance to interact with a college coaching staff and players.

Who are these Instructors?

Geoff White, Head Coach at Okanagan College and current San Diego Padres scout has been at the helm of the Coyotes program for 16 years. A local product that played college baseball at the University of Jamestown and then went on to player independent pro baseball. Coach White has been on the coaching staffs for Toronto Blue Jays Futures program 3x, which is the top tournament hosted at the Rogers Center in Toronto each fall. Also a member of multiple provincial programs, and head coach of the Kelowna Falcons twice, 2005 and 2013.

Evan Bailey, Head Coach of the Okanagan Athletics, Rutland Senior Secondary Academy and Vernon Baseball Academy. Coach Bailey was a standout high school player that landed him on the Junior National Team and drafted by the LA Angels. He then pursued baseball south of the border at El Pass Community College before transferring to PAC-12 University of Utah. Has been a coach at Toronto Blue Jays Futures program multiple times, has had multiple players drafted into the MLB with on making his Major League debut in 2022, Jared Young of the Chicago Cubs.

Jared Johnson, Player Development Coordinator and Pitching Coach for the Okanagan College Coyotes and Okanagan Athletics leads the charge. A former 2 x Miami Marlins Draft pick, Team Canada alum, former pitching coach of the Kelowna Falcons is a tremendous resource for players in the Okanagan Valley.

2022 Coaches Conference

COACHES AND VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

  • Are you interested in coaching?
  • Have you signed up to coach/volunteer but have no idea where to start?
  • Are you a seasoned veteran having coached for years but looking for some new ideas?

Each year Baseball BC puts on an outstanding coaching clinic, the typical issue is that it
requires travel, overnight stays, and a lot of time. For years any coaches that have gone to the event have always come back saying it was worth the time and energy. Once again, this year due to COVID, the entire coaches clinic will be done virtually-online. 3 days, 23 speakers and a wide range of topics from T-ball to the pros.

The clinic runs March 4-6

Click Here to view the Schedule

The clinic also provides opportunities to complete some of the NCCP coaches training sessions for credits that are required for coaches as they move up in divisions or with coaching summer ball.

If you are interested in honing your coaching skills, or if you have any questions, please reach out.

Vernon Baseball covers the cost for our coaches to attend. Contact your Division Director or myself via email at president@vernonbaseball.com to receive the payment code.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the fields.
